CAN YOU SEND ME A BREAKDOWN OF YOUR QUOTE?

When people are price shopping or looking to nit-pick, they will often ask you for a breakdown of your quote…

Now, it's important to realise that, these are NOT your ideal customers!

The next time this happens, try saying something like…


“No worries Corey, we can breakdown the quote for you. However, it’s important that I mention there is a $150 fee to cover the time and work required to actually get back to you with a complete itemised breakdown of the quote – would you still like to move forward with the breakdown?”


The answer to this question will likely go 1 of 4 ways:

1. They accept the breakdown fee, and you send it through.

2. They decline the breakdown fee and choose to move forward with the job anyway.

3. They hang up the phone (which is great because they’re no longer wasting your time!)

4. They fight back against the fee… to which you should respond with:


Prospect: No one else charges that fee!?

You: I know Corey, isn’t it crazy that they’re doing ALL that work for free! So, what do you think we should do next?


Now, this isn’t the only way to handle this situation – but the key is to address this all upfront on the call, so that you protect the most valuable asset you have – YOUR TIME!

STOP being at the mercy of the customer wasting time, money and energy on their sales process and START taking control by putting them on yours!
