When it comes to the enquiry process for a trade business, there is one critical question that we see a lot of trade business owner's NOT asking that is seriously holding back their marketing!

I'll explain...

When a new prospect calls your business, a golden opportunity to ask one of the single most important marketing questions there is, presents itself…

That is:

“How did you hear about us?”

Tracking this critical metric is central to your success and is a necessary feedback loop for literally EVERY trade business.

This is because it allows you to understand not only what marketing is currently working, but most importantly, what’s isn’t!

Which is pretty important given that marketing drives leads, leads drive sales, and sales drives money!

And successful marketing ultimately comes down to tracking, testing, and measuring…

Having the ability to track exactly where your leads are coming from will allow you to understand marketing activities that you can stop immediately, or do more of, or add etc. 

It's direct feedback on performance!! And wouldn't you like the ability to double down on what's working?? (obviously like anything, you still want diversity in how you market your business so that leads come from multiple sources - this is about ALSO doing more of what's working...)

So, try adding this question to your contact form, ask it at the beginning of all sales calls and track it in your CRM or on a simple spreadsheet! 

Then make sure that you actually then USE this data to establish, pivot, and strengthen the three main marketing channels that are bringing in new leads to your business.

If you aren’t tracking this metric, and if you don’t understand where your leads are coming from… you’re seriously hindering the performance of your marketing efforts.

Asking how people hear about you will change this, and results WILL show for it.
